Star of the Week is Libolly Haufiku

Our Star of the Week is Libolly Haufiku, the owner of Ombaye Fishing, who on Monday, responded to the call of the Minister of Health and Social Services, Dr Bernard Haufiku who appealed to Good Samaritans to save the eye clinic at the Windhoek Central Hospital that had run out of funds and was on the verge of closure. Haufiku donated N$100 000 to save the eye clinic that last week due to the lack of medicine and funds was forced to close temporarily.

Vehicle crashes into elephant in Kavango

KAHENGE – Police in Kavango West have cautioned motorists travelling at night to be careful when driving along the Rundu-Nkurenkuru road where some vehicles have recently crashed into livestock and also elephants as could be attested by an incident on Wednesday night.

SADC should strive for peaceful resolutions

WINDHOEK - The Permanent Secretary of International Relations and Cooperation Selma Ashipala-Musavyi who yesterday took over as SADC chairperson of the Standing Committee of Senior Officials says the organ should find lasting solutions to ensure that peace and security prevails in the region. Ashipala-Musavyi took over the chairperson of the responsibility from South African outgoing chair Sandile Schalk.
