Four-month old baby drowns at Muzii

MUZII – A four-month old baby drowned in the Zambezi River at Muzii in Kabbe South of the Zambezi Region last week. The baby was with her parents when they were trying to cross into neighbouring Zambia, reportedly to go and buy food, when their banana boat capsized.

Thirty-four years for deadly frenzied attack

WINDHOEK - Windhoek High Court Judge Dinnah Usiku last Friday sentenced Gobabis resident, Jacob Hoxobeb, 32, whom she convicted of murder with direct intent to an effective 34 years behind bars for the killing of his girlfriend and mother of his three children by stabbing her at least 16 times.

Air Namibia resumes Zim flights

WINDHOEK - Following a Zimbabwe High Court judgement granting the lifting of the attachment of Air Namibia aircraft in Zimbabwe, in the ongoing case between the airline and a Zimbabwean family, the national carrier yesterday resumed its flight operations to Harare and Victoria Falls.

Salionga appointed as permanent judge

WINDHOEK - Windhoek High Court Acting Judge Johanna Salionga who is currently presiding over the case of five people accused of a murder-for-hire plot has been appointed as a permanent judge of the High Court with effect from November 01.
This year was announced by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
