Nghaamwa bows out with head held high

Outgoing Ohangwena governor Usko Nghaamwa said he is bowing out with his head held high, saying he hopes the new broom will sweep clean. The 76-year-old Nghaamwa last week ended a 15-year reign as governor of the Ohangwena region and was replaced by Eenhana Town Council CEO Walde Ndevashiya.

Man accused of raping wheelchair-bound woman

A 20-year-old woman, who is wheelchair-bound, became a victim of sexual violence over Easter weekend when she was allegedly sexually violated by a man her family gave shelter to.  The victim was sleeping in her bedroom when the 45-year-old suspect forced himself into the room, undressed her and had sex without her consent.

PDM welcomes Andre’s appointment

The Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) has congratulated former youth leader Neville Andre on his appointment as governor of Erongo. Andre was named the new governor in the place of Cleophas Mutjavikua whose term ended.
