Otjunda commemoration back after Covid hiatus

Hundreds of Ovambanderu will descend on the garden town of Okahandja this weekend to commemorate the battle of Otjunda in which their chief, Kahimemua Nguvauva, was executed on 12 June 1896, as punishment for participating in an uprising against German colonialism in the Gobabis area.

The Fifa-appointed Normalisation Committee for the Namibia Football Association (NFA) will today continue with its roundtable mediation efforts when a second consultative meeting with members of both the Namibia Premier League (NPL) and the Namibia Premier Football League (NPFL) takes place at the NFA Football House in Katutura.
