Dr Naftali Hamata, popularly known in family circles by his African name, Tuyoleni, was born into a peasant family of tatekulu Henok Hamata, a builder and subsistence farmer, and meekulu Saara Nhinda-Hamata, a housewife and subsistence farmer.
