An amount N$113 730 was recently raised during the Siemens/Constantia Private School Golf Day.
“This highly successful fundraising event was made possible with the generous support of Siemens Namibia as main sponsor. Together with its sponsorship of N$30 000 as the biggest sponsorship ever received in the history of Constantia Private School as well as 26 team entries, all efforts and hard work proved worthwhile,” said the principal Amanda Moresche.
The school has been in existence for the past nineteen years and accommodates learners from 14 different language groups.
Two other educational bodies also benefited from the golf-day fundraising effort of the school.
“As one of the beneficiaries, Piekanienies Pre-Primary School was overwhelmed when the management was told that they would receive N$20 473,60. This unique pre-school with a creative tendency believes that a happy toddler turns into a happy learner and therefore encourages a good self image together with their aim to prepare a child for school,” Moresche said.
A donation of N$10 000 was also handed to the ERPOW Trust, a trust that was formed in reaction to the needs of the numerous informal orphanages in Windhoek.
“The aim of ERPOW Trust is to provide security, structure and opportunities with a clear vision to rebuild the poor, orphaned and widowed. Siemens Namibia also unexpectedly made a further donation of N$15 000 to the ERPOW Trust.
“As we are not subsidised by the Government or any other institutions, we are extremely grateful for the support we receive from our parents and especially in this case, the community, who so generously donated towards this fundraising event!” a grateful Moresche said.
