A 15-year-old boy allegedly raped his three-year-old cousin last Friday. The incident occurred at about 17h00 at the village of Omangundu in Oshikoto Region.
Deputy Regional Crime Coordinator for Oshikoto Region, Chief Inspector Edna Nawa, said the victim was left at home with the suspect while the minor’s guardian went to the nearby cuca shops.
“The investigation is still ongoing and the victim is under her parents’ care,” Nawa stated.
In a separate incident, a 38-year-old woman was assaulted and raped last Thursday.
The incident occurred at Ondombe village in the Omuntele area of Oshikoto Region, around 21h00.
Nawa said the victim was on her way from a local cuca shop when the suspect approached her and started courting her.
“The suspect followed the victim to her house, attacked her with a stick and raped her. The victim was admitted at Omuthiya Hospital. The suspect was newly employed as a cattle herder at the same village,” Nawa said.
Nawa noted tthe victim and the suspect are not related in any way.
No arrests have been made yet and police investigations continue.
Also in Oshikoto Region, a couple was discovered dead in a deep dam at Onanke village. The dam is just a few metres from their homestead. The bodies were discovered on April 21 at around 19h50.
The deceased were both employed as domestic workers and the cause of their deaths is unknown.
