As an enthusiastic advocate for a prosperous and industrialised Namibia, it’s evident to me that propelling Vocational Education and Training is pivotal to realising this aspiration within the timeframe outlined in Vision 2030.

Meritocracy is the rightful placement of individuals into employment positions based on their competencies. 

The concept of self-help groups in Namibia started as a ‘self-help’ effort in the late 1980s when the Council of Churches in Namibia convened a meeting with urban settlers, who found themselves landless and homeless, to address their need for land and housing.

Same-sex relationships and the livelihoods of sexual minority groups and communities in Namibia have faced increased public contestation since the Supreme Court’s 2023 ruling to recognise same-sex marriages performed abroad.

At a similar time, last year (2023), I wrote an article on the role of firefighters titled ‘Do Firefighters Matter?’ The article was published in a local daily. It was an attribution to the Commemoration of the World International Firefighters’ Day.
