Many children in remote areas of Namibia hear about Walvis Bay, sea animals and the lagoon, but they have never seen a boat, dolphin or flamingo, among others. 

Not knowing your passion or trying to figure out your career path can be a daunting task, especially if opportunities to do so are few and far in between.

Growing up, Crissy Hendrickson didn’t know what she wanted to be and when asked about her dreams and aspirations, she had no answer but one thing was for sure – it had to involve helping people.

Naapopye Uulenga, a deaf student under the Faculty of Education and Human Sciences, recently obtained his Bachelor’s of Education, showing that determination can overcome any obstacle.

Rob Youth Foundation (RYF) has joined hands with International Peace Youth Group (IPYG) to promote basic youth tenets, including peace among the youth in Namibia and beyond its borders. 

“Reading is the foundation of learning. If you cannot read, you cannot learn.”  This is how Aina Raiza Kweyo views the importance of education, which has spurred her on to start Lesheni Literacy, a non-profit grassroots effort aiming to cultivate a reading and literacy culture within informal settlements. 

“I was very proud of myself,” said Kiro Malan about the numerous merit awards and certificates he received as top achiever in his class and grade last year.
