WINDHOEK- If Rhinos could talk, what will they say? Will they tell us the love lost at the hand of the poacher?

To save our rhinos Spoken Word, in collaboration with Institute for the Environment, Integrated Environmental Consultants Namibia (IECN) presented Love not lost: A rhino’s love story last Saturday at the Warehouse Theatre. The poets presented passionate and soulful poetry to help save the rhino. They expressed their feeling and sympathy for the rhino that are being killed for their horns.

Ashwyn presented “One thing” about how everyone wants a piece of everyone but people are selfish and have no love. “Because of one thing, ‘their horns’, rhinos has to shed blood. If only people were not that selfish to just want one thing from them.”

‘If rhinos could talk’ by Raanjua, explains how rhinos feels unsafe and if only they could say something about it. If rhinos could talk, what they will say? Will they say how sad it is to lose other or will baby rhinos explain how hard it is to be without their mothers,  and how difficult it is trying to save them as what they have now are themselves. “Faster and faster we run but the rustler is always faster,” Raanjua tries to put himself in the shoes of the endangered rhinos, their feelings  and what they are doing to survive..

The Save the Rhino Trust presented a short presentation on what is happening to rhinos and what the Trust is doing to save the rhino. All proceeds were donated to the Trust.
