The Namibian Poultry Producers’ Association (PPA) decided to celebrate World Egg Day this year with the rest of the world. This event will take place on October 10.
Jan Hennetjie, the local World Egg Day ambassador for this year now has an own Facebook page where delicious recipes, egg advice and tips are shared in the build-up to 10 October. Visit https://www.facebook.com/groups/1563164713906803/ and ‘like’ the page and stand a chance to win a prize. More information will be posted on the Facebook page in due course. Join, participate and spread the word to create awareness for World Egg Day – there is less than a month left till October 10.
SWAKARA auction
During the SWAKARA auction in Copenhagen, Denmark on September 9, 100% of the 52 013 pelts which were offered sold. The highest price paid was N$2 964 for a lot black SWAKARA pelts which is an increase of N$558,40 in comparison with the April auction. The highest price paid for a lot of white pelts was N$2 546. The grey pelts, which were last sold in September 2013, achieved an average price of N$710,60 per pelt and the brown pelts, which were last sold in 2012, achieved an average price of N$640,30 per pelt.

SWAKARA pelt sorting courses are offered from November 26 – 28 at the House of SWAKARA, 35 Cobalt Str, Prosperita, Windhoek, by Jeremy Duffield-Harding. There are only a limited seats.
